Allergies & Asthma

Spring is often thought of as the time for allergies, but really any change of season can trigger allergies and asthma. But what is it about moving into autumn that gets you itching and sneezing [...]
Cardiovascular Health

If you are healthy, your heart and blood vessels work together in a balanced manner to deliver blood to every tissue and organ in your body – keeping you alive and well. There are many conditions relating to Cardiovascular Health that can affect you.
Constipation
Generally Naturally Dynamic Health Practitioners find that when clients experience an episode of constipation they will be drawn to the over the counter laxatives, which will offer some relief in the short term. In the long term they can be actually dangerous and make your constipation worse. The problem with this quick fix is that it never looks at the many possible causes of constipation.
Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction, or impotence, means not being able to get or keep an erection that is sufficient for sexual intercourse. Many men have impotence at some time in their lives. It can come and go
Fatigue
Fatigue is a very common complaint that Naturopaths are presented with. Causes are many and varied and it is never as simple as taking a vitamin or getting mmore sleep. You can suffer from mental, physical and often a combination of both when presenting with fatigue. Fatigue presents differently for everyone but definitely the feeling of overwhelming tiredness is the most common symptom, especially despite adequate sleep.
Headaches & Migraines
Headaches are among the most common symptoms experienced by everyone. Although headaches and migraines are common, often a clear understanding of why you get these remains unclear, so many of us suffer terribly.
Anxiety/Stress

Stress/Anxiety: While stress and anxious feelings are a common response to a situation where a person feels under pressure, it usually passes once the stressful situation has passed, or 'stressor' is removed. Anxiety is a symptom of excessive stress and occurs when these anxious feelings don’t subside.
High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure (hypertension) means that
your blood is pumping with more force than normal through your arteries.
Hypertension is often treated as a disease; however it’s actually the correct
response for blood vessels affected by inflammation.
Pain / Inflammatiom

Everyone has experienced acute inflammation – a sprained ankle or a cut – and witnessed the effect of your body’s immune system rushing to your aid to neutralise any threat to your body and restore function with the affected area turning red, puffy and hot. A normal, healthy immune response should flare up and die down again a short time later, as the body’s healing process resolves and the injury heals.
Blood Sugar Irregularities

Metabolic syndrome is the precursor to Type 2 diabetes, which has become a worldwide health problem. There are approximately 890,000 Australians and 270,000 New Zealanders currently diagnosed with diabetes. In addition to these numbers, it has been predicted that there are thousands of people with undiagnosed diabetes. Type 2 diabetes was once only seen in adults over 40 years of age, however, it is now more and more common in younger people.
Infertility
Having a baby is a precious gift and conceiving should be an easy, natural process. Sadly, many couples have a low natural fertility and struggle to conceive and/or maintain a pregnancy.

Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is the most common thyroid problem that we see at NDH and many people go undiagnosed for long periods of time because the symptoms often overlap with the feeling of just being tired and busy or run down. By the time you finally seek help you feel both physically and emotionally exhausted.
Depression

While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, some people experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood - it's a serious illness that has an impact on both physical and mental health.
Nicotine Addiction

Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death and diseases in Australia. Tobacco use not only reduces your life expectancy, but also your quality of life as well. Many medical conditions caused from smoking not only result in death, but in living for years with disabling health problems
Anaemia

Anaemia is a deficiency in the number or quality of red blood cells. Red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow and contain a protein called haemoglobin. Oxygen attached itself to haemoglobin and because of this capability, red blood cells are responsibly for delivering oxygen to the body’s cells so they can perform their various duties.
